General Package Information
Day 1
Transfer and Acclimatization: Departure from Mérida City (1,600 m.a.s.l.) to Los Nevados Town (2,500 m.a.s.l.).
Adventure: You will enjoy the adrenaline generated by the road during the transfer.
Duration: The journey takes approximately 4 hours.
Lodging: Overnight stay at a Posada (Inn) in Los Nevados Town.
Day 2
Morning Preparation: The muleteers will take care of loading your bags onto the mules, which will transport the luggage and accompany the journey.
Trekking: The trek begins through the Valle del Indio (Indian Valley) to Chorro de Humo Camp (3,500 m.a.s.l.).
Duration: The walk takes approximately 6 to 8 hours.
Lodging: Overnight stay in a Tent at Chorro de Humo Camp.
Day 3
High-Altitude Trekking: Transfer from Chorro de Humo Camp to La Charca Camp (4,500 m.a.s.l.).
Sightseeing: During the trek, you will appreciate a forest of Coloradito trees (Polylepis), which is one of the most enjoyable days of the journey.
Duration: The trek takes approximately 5 to 6 hours.
Day 4 (Summit Day)
Breakfast: Served at 03:00 am.
Preparation: Putting on climbing and safety equipment while listening to the guides' instructions.
Ascent: At 04:00 am, the adventure begins towards the summit of Humboldt Peak.
Total Duration: The expedition to the summit takes approximately 12 hours.
Day 5
Return: Transfer back to Los Nevados Town.
Logistics: The muleteers and their mules will take care of transporting all the luggage.
Duration: The journey takes approximately 10 to 12 hours.
Lodging: Upon arrival in Los Nevados, you will sleep in a posada (inn) to return to Mérida City the following morning.

Main Transportation: Your package includes round-trip transfer to and from El Vigía airport, but not the cost of air tickets or any other means of transportation to get to Mérida city or for your departure home.
Regular Dinners and Lunches:
The Day 1 dinner is not included. You will have the freedom to choose where to dine among the city's gastronomic options.
The package does not cover most dinners or lunches, with the exception of the refreshments during Canyoning and the meal after the 4-wheeler motorbike tour.
Personal Mountain Equipment: The package does not include mandatory personal items for the expedition, such as:
Backpack, mountain boots, and spandex clothing.
Thermal clothing (fiber, down) and protective clothing (windbreakers, jackets).
Sleeping bag appropriate for the altitude and insulating pad.
Water bottle, headlamp, sunscreen, and sunglasses.

Supplements and Rental
Equipment Rental: If you do not own the mandatory personal gear (Backpack, sleeping bag, etc.), it can be arranged with prior agreement and an extra cost.
Special Meals: If the adventurer suffers from any allergies or is vegetarian, a special meal service can be requested, which must be notified in advance.
Booking and Payment Requirements
Initial Deposit: To secure your spot, you must pay 20% of the total cost.
Payment and Reservation Deadline: Reservations must be made with 15 to 30 days prior to the chosen date.
Required Notice: Climbs and treks must be coordinated with two weeks' notice.
Mountain Policy: High-mountain sports are uncertain, and the mountain will have the final word. Should objectives not be achieved due to uncertain conditions, an agreement will be reached with the guide to evaluate the situation.
Important Notes
Availability: The expedition is subject to the prior coordination and booking of mules, transportation, posadas, and muleteers.
Physical Condition: Adequate aerobic physical preparation, muscular strength, and psychological readiness are required. The better your physical condition, the more you will enjoy the expedition.
Guide's Authority: The guide is responsible for making the final decision on whether the climatic, physical, and psychological conditions of the participants are suitable for the Excursion or the Ascent to the Summit.
Travel Requirements:
You must carry your original ID card (cédula) or passport.
It is recommended to arrive in Mérida city 24 hours before the start of the expedition.
NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED for this activity.
The optimal weight for your personal bag should be no more than 15 kg.
- The route demands adequate aerobic physical preparation, muscular strength, and psychological readiness; the walk to the camp and the climb to the summit require it. Adequate physical condition will help you adapt to the altitude and the technical climbing activity.
- A case of flu or a respiratory illness can worsen considerably during the tour due to the altitude.
- The treatment of physical, organic, and inorganic waste will be explained at the start of the tour and must be strictly followed without exception.
- The safety rules that will be implemented during the development of the tour must be obeyed.
- The physical environment where the tourism activity is carried out must be respected and cared for. The extraction of flora and fauna is prohibited.
- You must report if any of the adventurers suffer from any serious illness or take any medication.
- It is recommended to exercise prior to the excursion, drink plenty of water, and get enough sleep.
- The guide is in charge of making the final decision on whether the climatic, physical, and psychological conditions of the participants are suitable for the Excursion or the Ascent to the Summit (this is a safety measure).
- Small details and adequate preparation are the steps that lead us to success in all kinds of situations. However, we must understand that high-mountain sports are very uncertain, and the mountain will have the final word.
